HAV Network

Hampshire Autism Voice Network

Members of Hampshire Autism Voice (HAV) represent the views and experiences of people with autism in Hampshire, their families and carers, on the Hampshire Autism Partnership Board (HAPB).

Our members are aware, despite the many contacts/networks they have access to, that they are not always able to represent fully the views and experiences of people with autism across the wider autistic spectrum. This specifically applies to those people with more complex needs or who may have a learning disability as well.

With grant funding from Hampshire County Council, the Hampshire Autism Voice Network has been established to enable wider participation from people with autism, their families and carers in Hampshire.

The HAV Network will:

  • ensure the views of people with autism, their family and carers in Hampshire, from across the autistic spectrum, can be represented at the HAPB;

  • ensure the wider participation of people with autism, across the autism spectrum, their family, carers and service providers;

  • circulate information about HAV, the HAPB and the implementation of Hampshire’s Autism Strategy;

  • seek and feedback views and experiences to HAV who will report these to the HAPB; and

  • signpost people with autism, their family and carers to support services and information.

The HAV Network is coordinated, on behalf of HAV, by the South Hampshire Branch of the National Autistic Society (NAS), via a contracted HAV Network Coordinator.

Can you assist us?

We are looking for the following groups of people below to participate in occasional surveys in order to gain your views on various aspects of how autism is supported. This will be fed back anonymously to the HAPB.

  • Autistic people
  • Families of autistic people
  • Support workers
  • Organisations that work with autistic people

With your help we can make sure that your views are represented and supported in the Hampshire Autism Strategies.

The database for contacts is continuing to be compiled. If you would like to take part in the surveys please contact us indicating which groups you represent. An email contact address is preferred but a postal option can be set up.
